Electric bike and muscle bike , what are the differences between our two products? Möbius answers you through this article.
Technical differences
Our two bamboo bikes are not fundamental technical opposites. The general operation remains identical with handlebars, belt, crankset, brakes and a frame made of bio-sourced bamboo, recycled aluminum and carbon fiber!
However, there is a major difference in weight:
Our e-bike weighs 17.5 kg without the battery (total weight 19.5 kg), which corresponds to an average weight for an electric bike. Our muscle bike, on the other hand, weighs only 12 kg.
The VAE being a connected bike with a mobile application, there is a screen on the handlebars which allows the cyclist to follow the essential information of his bike such as the speed, the state of the battery and the level of electric assistance.
The driving experience
The electric bike allows you to move without intense effort. The motor placed at the level of the rear hub gives a feeling of propulsion to the cyclist which helps him to climb hills or make a long commute without sweating. The seating position is very pleasant for trips to be made in town.
Our muscle bike offers a sportier riding position for longer rides. We have chosen a saddle that is less thin than classic muscle bikes in order to maintain comfort during and after the ride.
Speed
Who says electric bike does not say 0 effort: you still have to pedal! But this model makes it possible to reach an average speed of 19 km/h on a route without the efforts of the muscle bike . As for muscle bike rides, they are done at an average speed of 15 km/h. Our model has 7 speeds with a rear gear hub.
Contrary to what one might think, the electric bike is not much faster than the muscular bike and this for a reason: the speed of pedelecs is limited to 25 km/h in Europe.
To make a daily trip, the electric bike will not be much faster than the muscle bike , even if it allows a lower effort. With or without electric assistance, the bike allows you to travel at a speed similar to a car in the city center, avoiding traffic jams and with less impact on the environment.
The price

Maintenance and repair
The same technical characteristics are to be taken into account for our two models of bicycles concerning maintenance. For the VAE, particular attention will be paid to the condition of the battery and the electronic components.

In the event of a problem, the Möbius team works in collaboration with Cyclofix , which undertakes to repair your bike at home. If more extensive repairs need to be carried out, a replacement bike can be offered to you during this time if necessary.
